Tooth Shade Guide VITA Compatible
Two VITA systems. One reading. About one second.

Care Instructions:
To maintain measurement accuracy and prolong device life, always clean the probe with 75% medical alcohol before and after use. Remember to replace the protective cap after each session to prevent scratches or damage that could affect future color matching.
How It Works
1. Prepare – Remove the protective cap and disinfect the probe with a 75% alcohol wipe before use.
2. Turn On – Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the device is ready.
3. Measure the Tooth – Place the probe directly and flush against the tooth surface and press lightly for 1 second.
4. Measure Correctly – For uniform-colored teeth, measure the central portion. For layered colors, measure each layer separately.
5. Match the Shade – After measuring the patient’s tooth, use the displayed shade value to find the corresponding shade on the VITA Shade Guide. Do not scan the VITA shade tabs with the device to compare the result.
6. For Accurate Results – Always measure directly on the patient’s tooth. Avoid measuring from too far away or at an angle, as incorrect positioning may affect the reading.
Important
Correct positioning is essential for accurate shade readings.

One shade mismatch costs more than this device
You write A2 on the lab slip. The crown comes back a half-step too light, the patient sees it in the mirror, and you're booking a second appointment and paying for a remake — $150–400 and an awkward conversation.
-
The operatory lamp, the window and the wall colour all shift what you see — the same tooth reads A2 at 9 am and A3 at 4 pm
-
After eight patients your eyes are tired — colour perception drops and you don't feel it happening
-
Shade tabs yellow and wear over the years — the guide on your tray no longer matches the one in the lab
-
"A2, slightly warmer" on a lab slip is a guess the technician has to interpret — and the remake lands on your bill
Built-in adaptive illumination inside the tip. Surgical lamps, daylight and intraoral moisture don't change the reading — every measurement happens under the same light.
One button, no app, no Bluetooth, no training. Place the tip on the middle third of the tooth, press, read the shade on the HD screen.
VITA Classical A1–D4 and 3D-Master shown together on the same readout. No mode switching, no conversion chart — write both on the lab slip.
Displays the nearest shade and the second-closest one (e.g. 3R2.5 / 2R2.5). Green means a clear match, orange means a borderline case — so you know when to tell the lab.

Everything you need to know before you buy — no hidden details.

Two VITA systems. One reading.
Your lab works in 3D-Master. You think in Classical. The screen shows both at once — 3M3 on top, B4 below — read from the same measurement. No conversion chart, no second reading, no "which system did you mean" call from the technician.

Room light doesn't matter. Saliva doesn't matter.
The tip carries its own adaptive light source and seals against the tooth surface. Operatory lamp on or off, north-facing window or none, wet enamel or dry — the reading is 3L2.5 / B4 either way. Take five readings in a row and get the same number five times.

Not just the shade — how close it is
A shade tab is binary. A real tooth rarely is. The device shows the nearest shade in large type and the runner-up next to it: 3R2.5 / 2R2.5, A3.5 / A2. Green means a clean match. Orange means the tooth sits between two tabs — write both on the lab slip and the technician layers accordingly. That's the case that used to come back as a remake.
FAQ
Everything you need to know before you buy — shade systems, accuracy, lighting, battery, certification and returns.
Which shade systems does it read?
VITA Classical A1–D4 and VITA 3D-Master. Both results appear on the screen at the same time from a single measurement, so you can send the lab whichever system they work in — or both.
Does it replace my eye and my shade guide?
No — it's a second opinion for them. Most dentists take the reading first, then confirm with the tab. When the two disagree, the device is the one that wasn't affected by the operatory light or the ninth patient of the day. Final shade is still your clinical call, together with photos and the lab.
How accurate is it?
The manufacturer specifies a shade-match rate above 98% against VITA reference tabs. In practice the useful part is repeatability: measure the same tooth five times and you get the same number five times, which a visual match under changing light can't do.
Does room lighting or saliva affect the reading?
No. The tip has its own adaptive light source and sits flat on the tooth, so surgical lamps, daylight, wall colour and intraoral moisture are shut out of the measurement. Place the tip on the middle third of the labial surface, perpendicular to the enamel, away from the gingiva.
Do I need an app, Bluetooth or a computer?
No. One button, result on the built-in HD screen. Nothing to pair, nothing to update, nothing for the assistant to learn.
How is it charged and how long does the battery last?
Built-in 3.7 V / 1500 mAh rechargeable battery. It sits on the included charging base between patients (5 V / 1 A adapter, AC 100–240 V, works in any country). Each reading takes about a second, so a charge covers days of normal clinic use.
Certification, warranty and returns?
CE-certified device, 1-year manufacturer warranty, 30-day money-back guarantee. Try it chairside; if it doesn't earn its place, email support@dentiphoto.com and send it back for a full refund — no restocking fee.
How fast does it ship to my practice?
Free tracked and insured shipping. Dispatched within 2 business days from our USA, Europe, Australia or China warehouse, typical delivery 3-7 business days.
