Everything a $1,600 curing light does — plus the one thing none of them do: it shows you, every day, that it is still curing at full power. Light meter built into the charging base, caries detection, magnetic lenses, 360° handpiece, 3,000 mW/cm², 7 modes.

1 in 3 curing lights in practice can't deliver half the energy a composite needs. And the dentist has no way of knowing.

When 915 curing lights were measured across 422 working dental offices, close to a third could not deliver even half the energy a modern composite requires. Output at the tip ranged from 157 to over 12,000 mW/cm². A separate study of 200 lights in daily service found average output running about 19% below the manufacturer's own specification — and 35–40% below once the tip was chipped or coated with resin.

The uncomfortable part is that nothing on the surface tells you. As Dr. Richard Price has put it: even the cheapest light and the sloppiest technique will produce a restoration that feels hard to the touch. What you cannot feel is whether the bottom of that restoration ever cured.

And roughly half of everything a practice bills runs through this one instrument.

So i-Light Pro checks itself. Every day. On the base it already sits on.

The intelligent charging base is also a light meter. Rest the tip on the sensor, read the output on the base display. You see the day your light starts to fade — not six months later, in remakes and post-op calls.

A standalone dental radiometer costs $450 to $2,000. Fewer than 13% of dentists own one. Yours is in the box.

Magnetic lenses. Changed in one movement, with gloves on.

Nothing screws on and nothing strips. Each lens snaps to the head magnetically, so you can change the working geometry between steps of the same restoration.

  • Point Cure Lens — local curing, such as porcelain veneers. Spot-hold the veneer, clean up the excess cement, then commit to a full cure. Also used for checking tooth cracks in Diagnosis Mode.
  • Proxi Cure Ball Lens 1 & 2 — interproximal curing. Reach the gingival margin of a Class II — the single most common site of secondary caries.
  • Endo Guide Lens 1 — hard-to-reach areas: distal surfaces and posterior teeth.
  • Endo Guide Lens 2 — narrow spaces: fibre posts and flowable resin inside cavities.

The distal of a second molar. Without asking the patient to open wider.

The handpiece rotates a full 360°, and the angled head drops the required gape angle from 35° to 20°. Slim, 102 g, and it reaches the posterior region without the patient holding their mouth wide open for the length of the cure.

Seven modes — by what you are actually doing

  • Standard — 1,000 mW/cm², 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 s. Routine anterior and posterior restorations.
  • Turbo — 1,500 mW/cm², 3 / 5 s. Faster layering when access and distance are good.
  • Super — 3,000 mW/cm², 1 / 3 s. 1 second for tack-curing: spot-hold a veneer or a matrix band, then clean up before the full cure. 3 seconds for orthodontic bonding.
  • Ortho — 1,000 mW/cm², 3 s × 5 or 3 s × 10. Full-arch bonding without re-triggering between brackets.
  • Ramp — 0 → 1,000 mW/cm², 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 s. Gradual onset where you want to manage shrinkage stress.
  • Pulse — 1,000 mW/cm², 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 s. Pulsed delivery for heat-sensitive situations.
  • Detect — violet light. Caries detection and examination.

For definitive restorations, work in joules — not seconds

Most composites need roughly 12–24 J/cm² per 2 mm increment, and dark or opaque shades need more. Energy (J/cm²) = irradiance (W/cm²) × time (s). A short exposure only works if the irradiance actually reaching the restoration is what the box claims — and irradiance drops sharply with distance and with any angulation of the tip.

That is the point of the meter in the base: it gives you a real number to put into that equation, measured today, on your light. We would rather you cure to a target energy you can verify than to a number printed on a carton.

Detect Mode

A dedicated violet light for caries detection and examination — the same instrument, one button away, without reaching for a second device.
